The DisplayDrawer™ project started 9 months ago, inspired by ancient times peddlers walking from village to village selling stuff from their hoods.
The third generation of prototypes is now ready to be tested in real-life conditions.
Prototype V. 3.0
As previous version, the current version is made of aluminium (grade 2024) for obvious protyping convenience. The light strips work with 4 non-reusable AAA batteries.
Once the final shape and structure will be defined, based on tests and users’comments, Uleotech will survey potential users on their expected specifications, and mainly:
Favorite material: aluminium, polycarbonate (PC) or poplypropylene (PP)
Eletrical power: non reusable batteries or Io-Li rechargeable battery (each alternative has its pros and cons).
Testing
Two series of tests are scheduled in june 2011 on-board commercial flights in real conditions. One test will take place on a long-haul charter airlines transporting mostly leisure travellers. The second test will be conducted on medium-haul flights of a scheduled airlines, with a mixed-crow of business and leisure passengers.
The primary objective is to precisely measure the DisplayDrawer impact on penetration and sales, comparing:
- Penetration registered on test flights Vs average penetration
- Sales of products displayed Vs average sales of these products in normal condition
- Overall sales on test flights Vs overall sales on “normal” flights
